Paul Ernest Torgersen was the 14th President of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He was an Industrial Engineering graduate who, apart from his presidency, also served Virginia Tech as a faculty member and dean. He unfortunately has passed away on March 29, 2015. Please join us in this event that honors his name and legacy!

Event Description
The Torgersen Leadership Summit (TLS) is an annual conference held by students of the Virginia Tech Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) in honor of Dr. Paul Torgersen, past Virginia Tech Industrial and Systems Engineering Department head and Virginia Tech president. The event seeks to provide students insight on how they can be leaders in their field upon graduation through presentations and workshops on leadership taught by experienced industry professionals. The theme of TLS this year is "Discover", as we are aiming to inspire students to seek a life of discovery with journeys for new opportunities. More details are available here.

To provide students and alumni an opportunity to further themselves as leaders through networking, interactive workshops, and discussion panels to ultimately gain insight into practical applications.
